Fall 2010 Season Recap
Three series later and the fall has come and gone from the Elon club baseball schedule. despite the decent 4-2 record for the fall season the team came out feeling slightly disappointed, but at the same time very optimistic for the spring season. With a rag-tag group of excellent freshman and a solid core of veterans there is much to anticipate for the spring season. This past weekend was a clear picture of what might to come, with a sweep of Wake Forest in a double header on Saturday October 31st. Pitchers Nolan Elinburg and Aaron Mojer both made starts and pitched excellent games, going deep into the games. In both games the pitchers only gave up two runs and came out with victories. With clutch hitting and some very solid defense the team was able to get over some early game hitting slumps and pull out victories.
2010 Fall season gets underway
The time of year that we have all been waiting for. The summer is over, Elon is buzzing with people once again, and baseball is starting at Firehouse Fields. With a couple of practices down, this upcoming Tuesday marks the first practice for the rookies and the first full team practice of the season. Beautiful weather is imminent and should make the event that much more enjoyable for everyone. With the first games next weekend against Appalachian State there is a lot of excitement surrounding the Elon club team as the team starts to prepare for their first two games on Sunday.
Elon drops 2 to UNC Charlotte
It was a dissapointing weekend for the Phoenix as they dropped 2 out of 3 games to UNC Charlotte. Saturday the teams split and the tie-breaker on Sunday went to the home team. The visiting Elon team played hard in all 3 games but came up short in their lasts series of the year. The bats came alive, showing 4 home runs in 3 games. Jamie Hawkins had 2, and Derick DeAndrade and Derick Burnette both had 1 each.
Moger Emmy Nomination
Yup, he better be getting an Emmy, no joke. He only threw a knuckle at them.
April 24-25
Overall this was a tough weekend for the team, dropping all three games to the Tarheels of UNC. The team isn't looking back however, and is planning on taking all three games from UNC Charlotte in their upcoming series in a week.
